Lead vocalist, Carrie Baldwin-Sayre, has been with The JFO since its inception, and couldn’t be happier singin’ (and occasionally hoofin’ to) these great jazz age tunes. A native of southern California, Portland has been her home for almost 20 years and she’s been very active in the music and theater scenes. From the age of 6, she studied classical piano and swears she’ll learn to play the ukulele. She has sung with The Stolen Sweets, Pepe and the Bottle Blondes, Colorfield, The Moes, and has even done a little go-go dancing with Hit Explosion. She also sings with the eclectic tiki/lounge band, the Lava Lounge Orchestra. You can even hear her singing some back-up vocals for modern folk-rock artist Christine Havrilla. By day she’s a doctor, and in her spare time, a collector of vintage clothing and kitchenware.
